Terms of service

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”, “Terms of Service”) carefully before using the educationfutures.com website, the GEFRI website, the Manifesto 25 website, or the Education Futures Store (collectively, the “Service”), each operated by Education Futures LLC (“us”, “we”, or “our”).

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, where reasonably necessary, including if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, interfere with its operation or security, or engage in unlawful activity.

All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including ownership provisions, license terms, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

Content

Our Service may allow you to post, link, store, share, or otherwise make available certain information, text, graphics, videos, comments, or other material (“Content”). You acknowledge and agree that you are responsible for any Content you submit and for ensuring that it is lawful, relevant to the Service, and compliant with applicable law.

Intellectual property and licensing

Unless otherwise stated, content published on the Service, including text, graphics, reports, articles, frameworks, images, and other materials, is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. Where a different license applies, that license will be indicated on the specific publication, page, or product.

You may share and adapt content from the Service in accordance with the applicable license terms. Unless explicitly permitted by the applicable license, you may not use such content for commercial purposes without prior written permission. You are responsible for complying with all attribution and license requirements when reusing or adapting our content.

Trademarks, service marks, logos, software, website design, and other materials that are not offered under a Creative Commons or other stated license remain the property of Education Futures LLC or their respective owners and are not licensed for reuse except as permitted by law or with permission.

User content and rights

By posting Content on the Service, you grant Education Futures LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, use, display, reproduce, transmit, and distribute that Content solely as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, and provide the Service and the features you request.

You retain any ownership rights you hold in Content you submit. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights, permissions, or other lawful authority necessary to submit, publish, or share that Content.

We reserve the right to review, edit, remove, restrict, or refuse to display user-submitted Content where we reasonably believe it violates these Terms, applicable law, the rights of others, or the purposes of the Service.

Disclaimer

The content provided on the Service is for informational and educational purposes only. While we aim to ensure accuracy, relevance, and clarity, we make no warranties or representations regarding the completeness, reliability, availability, or suitability of any content for any particular purpose.

Your use of the Service and reliance on any content provided through it is at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Education Futures LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of data, use, business, revenue, or profits, arising out of or related to your access to or use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Links to other websites

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by Education Futures LLC.

Education Futures LLC has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, availability, security, or practices of third-party websites or services. You acknowledge and agree that Education Futures LLC shall not be responsible or liable for damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by your use of or reliance on content, goods, or services available through such third-party websites or services.

Communicating with us

We communicate with users with their consent or where otherwise permitted by applicable law, and for the purposes described when the communication relationship is established. When you subscribe to a newsletter, for example, you are subscribing to that newsletter unless stated otherwise.

We do not sell personal information to advertisers or other third parties. We may use service providers where necessary to operate communications and related infrastructure, such as email delivery providers.

You may withdraw consent to optional communications at any time. Our marketing email communications include an unsubscribe link that allows you to stop future mailings through that channel.

How we use cookies

We may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, understand which pages are being used, analyze website traffic, diagnose technical problems, and improve our websites. We seek to limit analytics collection to information reasonably necessary for these purposes.

You can control or decline cookies through your browser and, where available, through website privacy controls. Blocking certain cookies may prevent some website features from functioning as intended.

Comment policy

We welcome diverse perspectives and encourage constructive dialogue. Where the Service permits comments or other public contributions, the following guidelines apply:

6. Moderation: We may review, restrict, edit, or remove contributions that violate these guidelines or these Terms. Repeated or serious violations may result in loss of commenting or account privileges where applicable.

By participating in discussions through the Service, you agree to follow these rules and contribute to a constructive community. If a third-party service provider is used for hosting, authentication, or moderation, your use of that provider may also be subject to its own terms and privacy practices.

Use of content in automated systems

Unless explicitly permitted by an applicable license, you may not use content from the Service to train, fine-tune, or otherwise develop machine learning or artificial intelligence systems for commercial purposes without prior written consent. Non-commercial reuse remains subject to the terms of the applicable Creative Commons or other license unless otherwise stated.

This provision applies to content published through the Service and does not alter any permissions or restrictions established by separate terms governing another Education Futures service, including KnowMapped.

Governing law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

Subject to applicable law, disputes arising under or relating to these Terms shall be brought in courts of competent jurisdiction located in Minnesota. Nothing in this section deprives a consumer of mandatory protections, remedies, or access to courts available under the laws of the consumer’s place of residence where those rights cannot lawfully be waived.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, applicable law, our practices, or the services we use to operate our websites. When we update these Terms, we will post the revised version and update the date shown at the top of this page.

If a change materially affects users’ rights or obligations, we will provide reasonable advance notice where appropriate or required by law. Nonmaterial changes, including corrections, formatting changes, and clarifications that do not materially alter the agreement, may take effect when posted.

Education Futures Store

The Education Futures Store, located at store.educationfutures.com, is operated by Education Futures LLC and is part of the Service covered by these Terms, subject to any additional terms presented for a particular product or at checkout.

Purchases through the Store may be processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record for transactions it processes. Lemon Squeezy handles payment processing and may also handle applicable taxes, invoices, refunds, chargebacks, fraud prevention, and related transaction administration. Your purchase may therefore also be subject to Lemon Squeezy’s applicable terms and policies and any purchase terms presented at checkout.

Education Futures LLC remains responsible for the content, licensing, availability, and delivery of products it offers through the Store except for transaction functions handled by the merchant of record. Materials are provided under the license specified on each product page. Unless otherwise stated for a particular product, the default license is the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.

Questions regarding Education Futures products, access to materials, or licensing should be directed to [email protected]. Questions concerning payment processing, refunds, invoices, or other transaction matters may also be handled through the support options provided by the merchant of record.

KnowMapped

KnowMapped is a separate service operated by Education Futures LLC and is governed by its own Terms of Service. These Terms do not govern your use of KnowMapped, including knowmapped.com, app.knowmapped.com, KnowMapped accounts, maps, collaboration features, AI-assisted generation, generation credits, or KnowMapped purchases.

If you access or use KnowMapped, create a KnowMapped account, or purchase a KnowMapped product or service, the KnowMapped Terms of Service apply to that activity. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the KnowMapped Terms concerning KnowMapped, the KnowMapped Terms govern.

Separate services and terms

Education Futures LLC may operate other websites, applications, products, or services that have their own terms of service, privacy notices, purchase terms, or other agreements. When separate terms are presented for a service, those terms govern that service to the extent stated in them.

In particular, use of KnowMapped is governed by the separate KnowMapped Terms of Service.
